"My brain... is currently occupied with Zac Morris' SAT score."
Wes Frazer really sees you.
Wes Frazer is a child of the late 70's who lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama. Though a native of the South, Frazer spends much of his time in Southern California, drawn there by its beaches (yes, he surfs), the music scene, and the richness of its light.
Included in the 2015 PDN Photo Annual, his work is a study in contrasts both visual and cultural. His photos are often an uncanny combination of painterly sensitivity to visual minutiae and the sociologist's eye for the overlooked and undiscovered. Over the past few years, he has released multiple zines or books, their topics ranging from life in Alabama's Black Belt region to the Alabama Gulf Coast seafood industry to Mardi Gras in Louisiana's hinterlands. When he isn't at the river or playing with his Schnauzer-terrier mix, Bob, Wes enjoys cycling, riding his motorcycle, and watching The Wire, but never all at once, of course.

3.5 Questions with Wes
What is your secret talent?
I know more about Saved by the Bell than almost any human alive. If I could replace the space in my brain that is currently occupied with Zac Morris' SAT score and other bits of trivial nonsense I could learn at least eight languages.
Where do you find inspiration?
Tell us about the picture or job where you realized “Damn, I might actually make this happen”:
I still feel like I haven't hit that place yet! Every day I'm hustlin'!
I ENJOY surfing (although I'm terrible), hiking with my kick ass dog Bob, seeking out the best swimming hole, and eating tacos.
